ABOUT THE IMAGE
NGC 6888 - The Crescent Nebula
At around 4700 lightyears away, this emission nebula is a favorite target of many astrophotographers due to its iconic structure and contrast. The narrowband data for this shot was collected over three short summer nights in July 2020 and I see it as a work-in-progress still. There will be more data added to the 6.5h over the coming months with separate Ha and OIII channels on a mono camera.
