ABOUT THE IMAGE

NGC 7380 - The Wizard Nebula

I'm sure Caroline Herschel wasn't fully aware of the colorful beauty of this star forming region when she first discovered it in 1787. Imaged in S H O narrowband, the dense pillars of dust and gas really make a great contrast to the bright illuminated core. Another image that will improve almost endlessly by adding more exposure time.
